playN receives lifetime ban from ESIC

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has handed Tamás "playN" Palkovics a lifetime ban, extending his suspension beyond the three-year term originally announced as part of its sanctions against NOMERCY.

The decision was revised following playN's social media posts, which ESIC assessed as "displaying apparent cash and other proceeds of financial crime." The commission deemed this an "egregious breach which created the appearance of improper conduct under its Code of Conduct."

The Hungarian player initially received his three-year ban as part of wider sanctions against NOMERCY for "match manipulation." The 22-year-old was handed a shorter suspension than some of his teammates thanks to his "detailed responses, financial and communications production, continued engagement, youth and relative lack of experience."
