kuben takes over as FOKUS coach
German esports club FOKUS has launched a Counter-Strike 2 division, signing a new team led by former ENCE and Virtus.pro coach Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński. The official statement was published on the X social media.
The team's IGL is Erik "ztr" Gustafsson, who has been benched by GamerLegion since December of last year. The roster also includes Sebastian "volt" Maloș, Georgi "Jorko" Mitev, Mateo "Matheos" Prišlin, and Matias "Banjo" Kivistö.
volt's previous team was 500, while Matheos and Jorko were recently players for CPH Wolves (both clubs have since retired from Counter-Strike). Banjo, meanwhile, represented Fire Flux until January of this year.
The team's LAN tournament debut will take place at Urban Riga Open 3, which will play out from March 23 to 24 this year in Riga, the capital of Latvia.
