mezii names most promising young player in CS2

William "mezii" Merriman, a member of Vitality's Counter-Strike 2 roster, named young Swedish player Alex "poiii" Sundgren from Alliance as his Bold prediction for HLTV.org.

The 19-year-old Sandgren recorded a 1.15 rating in six months with Alliance. Rumors suggest he could join the 100 Thieves roster. "I don't know much about him as a person but I've watched a lot of his games with Alliance and he has some really strong mechanics, very promising talent so I look forward to seeing how he develops", – mezii explained his choice.

As part of its traditional Bold prediction series, the editorial team of the authoritative portal HLTV.org is asking esports athletes ranked in the top 20 at the end of the year to name one player they believe will excel at the highest level in Counter-Strike 2. The candidate must meet two criteria: they have not yet played for a team in the top 20 in the world ranking, and they must be under 20 years old.

Merriman sits 12th in HLTV.org's ranking of the best players on the pro Counter-Strike 2 scene in 2025. His average mezii rating at the end of the year amounted to 1.09.
