100 Thieves announces return to Counter-Strike

American esports club 100 Thieves has officially revealed its return to the pro Counter-Strike scene after more than five years away from the discipline. The organization's President, Jakob "Maelk" Toft-Andersen, commented on the announcement:

Counter-Strike has always been a cornerstone of esports, and CS2 has sparked new energy worldwide. Europe is at the center of that community, and by establishing a permanent home there, we're committing to doing this the right way.

100 Thieves' management has not yet unveiled the names of the esports athletes which will be part of the new sqaud. "further details about the new team roster and competitive schedule will be announced in the coming months", the statement read.

Earlier, insider and scout Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov reported via his personal Telegram channel that 100 Thieves had allegedly already signed former FaZe player Håvard "rain" Nygaard.

Notably, 100 Thieves launched a CS:GO division in late 2017, signing the Immortals roster. A month and a half later, the organization left the competitive CS scene, but returned in the fall of 2019 with the Renegades starting five. A year later, the American club left the discipline again.
