Official: FaZe benches rain

31-year-old Norwegian esports athlete Håvard "rain" Nygaard has departed FaZe's active Counter-Strike 2 roster – the organization has benched him. The official announcement was published on the club's X social media account.

Nygaard represented FaZe for almost ten years, since January 2016. Rain's average rating over the past three months is 1.09 (in 44 maps). During his pro Counter-Strike career, which kicked off in 2013, Håvard has earned over $1.8 million in prizes. Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken has filled the vacant position in FaZe's starting five.

FaZe currently sits 11th in Valve's world ranking. The squad will compete in the second stage of ESL Pro League Season 22, which starts on October 4, with a new lineup.
