Insider: "Cloud9 recently showed interest in buying out NAVI Junior"
According to unofficial information, North American esports club Cloud9 is looking for an opportunity to return to the Counter-Strike 2 pro scene.
According to rumors, the organization recently was interested in the possibility of completely buying out NAVI's youth CS2 roster, which is currently in the top 31 of Valve's world ranking. This was reported by insider Vlad "harumi" Radvilovich on his Telegram channel.
Note that Cloud9 secured the penultimate place at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 – the squad managed to win only one match in the first stage of the Major. After that, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov, Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov, Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko, Timofey "interz" Yakushin, Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov, as well as coach Konstantin "groove" Pikiner and manager Aleksandr "Sweetypotz" Shcherbakov departed the club.
An official statement made in February of this year said that Cloud9 "is taking a step back" and "does not plan to return to the game in the near future". At the same time, the organization does not rule out the possibility of returning to the discipline under suitable circumstances.
NAVI Junior are:
Dmytro "dem0n" Myroshnychenko
Aulon "Krabeni" Fazlija
Nikita "cmtry" Samolyotov
Džiugas "dziugss" Steponavičius
Drin "makazze" Shaqiri
