FURIA benches chelo
Brazilian esports club FURIA announced changes to its Counter-Strike 2 roster. The organization benched Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes. The official announcement was published on FURIA's X social media account.
The 26-year-old Brazilian esports sports has represented FURIA since July 2023. chelo's average rating over the past three months is 0.96 (in 54 maps).
The club has not yet announced the name of the player who will fill the vacant position in the squad. Earlier, rumors surfaced on the web that FURIA was interested in two young esports athletes from the CIS – Danil "molodoy" Golubenko and Gleb "gr1ks" Gazin. The team has one month to find a new player – the next tournament for FURIA will be PGL Astana 2025, which kicks off on May 10.
FURIA placed 13th-16th at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025, 12th-14th at ESL Pro League Season 21, 13th-16th at IEM Katowice 2025, and 9th-16th at BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 1. The squad currently occupies 17th place in Valve's ranking.
