New sniper rifle may be coming to CS2

Valve is working on a new weapon for Counter-Strike 2: the M14 sniper rifle, priced at $4,100. References to the weapon appeared in the game files following today's big update, a discovery shared by data-miner Thour.

According to the rifle's description in the CS2 code, the M14 will deal 115 damage (four times that amount for a headshot), feature a five-round magazine, and award $100 per kill. The developers themselves have not yet commented on the new weapon.

It is also worth noting that Counter-Strike 2 players can now get a pet chicken; this feature was added in today's update, even though the patch notes make no mention of it.
