Official: Intel no longer sponsors Grand Slam

American corporation Intel will no longer sponsor Grand Slam in Counter-Strike. The company's mention was removed from the award's name during the 21st season of ESL Pro League, which took place from March 1 to 16, and it is now called ESL Grand Slam.

Despite the fact that Intel is no longer part of the initiative, ESL will continue to host the award after the current season. HLTV.org reported this, citing the official statement from the tournament operator.

Seven years ago, Intel helped us start the Grand Slam. Now, beginning with ESL Pro League Season 21, it will continue as the ESL Grand Slam. Should the running fifth season conclude, we will continue to operate the ESL Grand Slam.

The award has been held since 2017 under the name Intel Grand Slam. ESL did not specify the reason for Intel's withdrawal from the deal – it is possible that this was caused by the reduction in Intel's advertising budget due to the fall of the company's stock price. Note that in February of this year, ESL and Intel announced the extension of their multi-year partnership.

Due to the victory at ESL Pro League Season 21, Vitality became the leader in the number of trophies in the current season of ESL Grand Slam – the squad has already won three tournaments.
