jkaem finds himself at the center of scandal – player owed large sum in skins
BC.Game's Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad owed about $10,000 to a trader with the nickname erlsan, from whom he temporarily borrowed skins for the specified amount during the Paris Counter-Strike Major.
The main point of the accusations is that jkaem did not return erlsan's skins back, but lost them gambling. According to erlsan, the player later promised to "upgrade" the skins, but two years later the debt has still not been repaid. As of March 15, 2025, the trader had only received $1,000 of the $11,000 from the Norwegian.
"I reached out mulitple times and he kept on creating new excuses. He was traveling, he was getting paid in a week, for example. Eventually, I realized I was being too patient", the trader stated via his X social media account.
After erlsan made the accusations public, jkaem admitted his guilt and promised to fully pay off his debt:
I don’t have any excuses. I fucked up bad and there is more than one case. I will pay back everything to everyone I owe money/skins. I was an idiot honestly. I take full responsibility and I own my mistakes.
Together with BC team we are sitting down and taking this very serious. They want to help me fix the damage I have caused to everyone involved. I am being honest and open with them about my issues and how we have ended here.
I want to say sorry to everyone that I have taken advantage of. I am 100% in the wrong here and I have to stand in my own mess.
Note that Myrbostad joined BC.Game in October of last year. Before that, he competed for BLEED for about six months. Over the course of his career as a Counter-Strike pro, the Norwegian has earned $283,000 in prizes.
