PGL bans Ganginho
23-year-old Ukrainian esports athlete Ilya "Ganginho" Chernychenko has been banned from all PGL Counter-Strike 2 competitions. The tournament operator announced this via its X social media account.
PGL's official statement claimed that the decision to suspend Chernychenko was made due to a violation of the rule that prohibits players from betting.
Note that a few days ago, Ganginho received a three-year ban from the Counter-Strike 2 pro scene following an investigation by the Esports Ethics Commission (ESIC). The reason was numerous bets (including on his own team's matches).
Chernychenko himself said that he does not recognize the accusations from ESIC and intends to challenge the suspension. The ban of the Ukrainian esports athletes will last until December 6, 2027 – until then, he will not be able to participate in Counter-Strike 2 events in any capacity.
