BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 organizers remove ATOX from tournament due to ESIC ban
Tournament operator BLAST announced a replacement in the team for the upcoming BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 Counter-Strike 2 event.
The organizers removed ATOX from the tournament. As stated in the announcement from BLAST, the squad was preliminary/temporarily disqualified from all competitions that are partners of the Commission in esports. At the same time, ESIC itself has not yet made any official statements on this matter. The vacant spot at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 went to The Huns.
Earlier it became known that one of the rosters included in the top 30 of the current Valve Counter-Strike 2 ranking is suspected of participating in match-fixing. ATOX currently occupies No. 33.
BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 will take place from March 19 to March 30, 2025. The first part of the tournament will be held at the BLAST studio in Copenhagen, while the playoffs will play out in Lisbon, Portugal. The total prize pool of the event will amount to $1.1 million, of which $400,000 will be featured directly at the competition, while the remaining $700,000 will be received by clubs as guaranteed payments for participating in the tournament.
