Nouns' CS2 roster left without funding
North American esports club Nouns has cut funding for its Counter-Strike 2 squad after a proposal to extend the roster's financial support was rejected.
Nouns is a "decentralized autonomous organization", meaning that its members, who purchase membership through "unique digital art pieces", vote on the funding of teams.
A few days ago, a proposal to fund Nouns' men's and women's CS2 rosters until the end of 2025 failed, after which a new proposal was put to a vote – funding the men's squad until the end of the Austin Major. However, this proposal also failed.
The Nouns players will continue to compete together despite losing their salaries – all except Gage "Infinite" Green, who is unable to play due to personal circumstances. It is not yet known who will replace him. The team will soon participate in the IEM Dallas and BLAST Rising qualifiers.
Currently, Nouns is ranked 66th among the world's strongest Counter-Strike 2 squads according to the authoritative portal HLTV.org.
Nouns are now:
Paytyn "junior" Johnson
William "RUSH" Wierzba
Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore
Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell
Eric "adreN" Hoag (coach)
