Dimaoneshot retires as a pro player

29-year-old Russian esports athlete Dmitriy "Dimaoneshot" Bandurka has officially announced the end of his career as a pro player. Dimaoneshot made a statement via his X social media account, in which he explained the reasons for this decision as well as shared his plans for the future.

The day has come! Today, I want to announce that it’s time for me to end my professional career in esports.

To be honest, these thoughts have been on my mind for quite some time. It’s like the first relationship: you understand that it’s time to say goodbye, but each time you believe that everything will be fine, even though it never happens.

My journey began a long time ago when my uncle Kolya “Certus” invited me to the team “Oneshot” during the CS 1.6 era, where I started learning all the intricacies of this discipline. After that, I joined the lineup of Phenomenon (krecker, 1uke, Coldy, S0tf1k, Dima), and we confidently rose to the top of the CIS teams from scratch and made a name for ourselves. Naturally, after achieving certain results, the organization Team Spirit reached out to us with a collaboration offer, which led me to my first major, where I earned my first stickers and became a recognized player.

You all remember the rest: four years with Team Spirit, after the major in Poland I was removed from the roster, I later joined Espada, showcased my best game, we qualified for another major, and experts called us champions. Then came the disbanding of Espada, my transition to Valorant, the closure of the league in the CIS, my return to CS2, qualifying for Advanced with young talents, getting released from the organization, and here we are.

I never won a major, never made it to the Legends stage at a major, and can even say that I wasn’t a participant in Tier-1 LAN tournaments, but it was an incredible time. A simple worker from Volgograd, thanks to the right people and my hard work, has seen and achieved something.

What are my future goals? To live life, to move in the media space, I will try to create interesting videos for my YouTube channel about CS, and on Twitch, I will engage in everything that is possible, and we will see from there. I don’t have any desire to be a coach for now; I need to recover my nerve cells; I’m almost 30, by the way.

I want to express my gratitude to the guys I played with: Lyosha, Petya, Pashka, Dimka, Vladik, Vitka, Antoshka, Vadimka, Roberto, Abdulito, Vladilio; to Sergey Hally for the speedrun to the major, to Nikita for Spirit, and to uncle Kolya for raising me. If I forgot anyone, don’t forget me!

Thank you all for appreciating me; it’s nice that you call me a Legend (after all this time). Come to my streams, watch my videos; I won’t let you down.

Dimaoneshot has been competing on the Counter-Strike pro scene since 2013. Dmitriy's previous team was RUSTEC. Previously, Bandurka also represented Espada, Vega, Team Spirit, etc. Over the course of his career, he has earned $74,000 in prize money.
