Skyesports Souvenir 2025 LAN tournament cancelled

Indian tournament operator Skyesports has announced the cancellation of the Skyesports Souvenir 2025 Counter-Strike 2 LAN tournament with a prize pool of $250,000, which was originally scheduled for February 2025.

According to the official statement from the organizers, the company attempted to reschedule the event to a later date and implement Wildcard invites as an exception to the rule, but Valve did not respond to their request.

The full statement from Skyesports looks as follows:

We had applied for an exception to reschedule the Skyesports Souvenir 2025 and introduce wildcard invites. However, despite our efforts, we have not received a response from Valve.

Coupled with the current situation surrounding other events and concerns raised by teams about the tournament potentially becoming unranked, we are left with no choice but to cancel the Skyesports Souvenir 2025.

We sincerely apologize to our fans, players, and partners for this disappointing turn of events.

Back in August of last year, Skyesports revealed its own schedule of 2025 Counter-Strike 2 competitions. Initially, the company planned four big events with a total prize pool of $1.75 million.
