ESL and PGL announce switch to Train

Tournament operator ESL has officially announced the replacement of Vertigo with Train at all of its ESL Pro Tour & ESEA events. The statement was published on the company's X social media account.

The changes will come into effect in the new ESEA Advanced season, which kicks off on January 13, as well as at ESL Challenger League (starts on January 21) and at IEM Katowice 2025 (starts on January 29).

The first PGL event of the season, PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, will also feature Train instead of Vertigo. The Romanian tournament operator shared this information with HLTV.

Note that the updated Train will also be included in the map pool of the first competition of the new season in Counter-Strike 2 – BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 1. Moreover, Valve will update the official map pool for the next Major (Blast.tv Austin Major 2025), which will take place in Austin, Texas, in June 2025.
