Official: Train to replace Vertigo at Austin Major

Counter-Strike 2 developers will update the official map pool for the upcoming Major (Blast.tv Austin Major 2025): instead of Vertigo, teams will compete on Train. Valve themselves announced this via official CS2 X social media account.

Note that last November, Valve significantly reworked and returned Train to the game. At the moment, the map is available in competitive and normal modes, as well as in the Deathmatch mode.

Earlier, insider Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov hinted via his personal Telegram channel that Valve plans to add Train to the map pool on the CS2 pro scene in the near future. He found out about this from one of the game's developers at a party after Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.

Tournament operator BLAST will host the next Counter-Strike 2 Major – it will take place in Austin, Texas, in June 2025. The tournament's prize pool will remain the same – $1.25 million. More detailed information about the upcoming event can be found in our article.
