Rumors: Second CS2 Major of 2025 to be held in Budapest

According to unconfirmed reports, tournament operator StarLadder will hold the second Counter-Strike 2 Major next year. Sheep Esports reported this, citing its own sources.

According to media reports, StarLadder management has chosen the capital of Hungary, Budapest, as the location for the event. The tournament operator itself has not yet made any official statements on this matter.

Note that in April of this year, StarLadder officially announced its return to the competitive Counter-Strike scene – the company announced four new competitions from the StarSeries series, which will take place in 2025 and 2026. The last LAN tournament from StarLadder in CS – StarSeries i-League Season 8 featuring a prize pool of half a million dollars – took place in the fall of 2019 in Turkey (EG won it).

Earlier it was announced that BLAST will hold the first Counter-Strike 2 Major in 2025 – it will take place in Austin, Texas, in June of next year. The upcoming tournament in Austin will be the second CS Major event from BLAST.
