"I'm feeling a lot better". maxster clarifies his absence from NIP

20-year-old Swedish esports athlete Max "maxster" Jansson released his own statement vis his X social media account, in which he explained his absence from the NIP roster at past and future competitions. Jansson said that he really had health problems, due to which he lost his form and was forced to miss two tournaments.

A few weeks before the tournament in Finland, and during the event itself, I was experiencing really poor health. I felt dizzy, had headaches, stomach pain, and generally felt unwell. I also had trouble eating, felt weak, and lacked energy. As a result, I wasn't myself, which is why I wasn't able to participate in the ELISA or Thunderpick tournaments.

As of today I'm feeling a lot better. I wanted to start playing again for Svenska Cupen and the RMR but a decision from the coaches was to have consistency during the weeks before Svenska Cupen and to not let me start competing too early. As I wrote above I really tried my best to get back into shape ASAP and they didn’t want me to rush the comeback. I really understand the decision and maybe it was for the better but obviously it sucks to miss the biggest Swedish tournament and also what should have been my first RMR.

Note that the member of NIP's youth squad Jacob "jocab" Nerheden will continue to compete as a stand-in for the main team until the end of the year. Accordingly, Nerheden will represent the team at the upcoming RMR tournament. Together with jocab, the squad secured the last place at Elisa Masters Espoo 2024 and the penultimate place at Thunderpick World Championship 2024.
