BLAST announces dates for issuing invites to 2025 tournaments

Tournament operator BLAST has revealed new details about its Counter-Strike 2 tournaments planned for next year. Each season will feature four BLAST competitions: Bounty, Open, Risings, and Rivals. The organizers also announced the dates when invites (based on the official Valve ranking) for the upcoming events will be issued.

The BLAST Bounty series will feature 32 rosters, 28 of which will be invited based on Valve ranking, while the remaining four teams will receive invites at the organizers' discretion. The competition will be held in a Single Elimination format, with the first rounds played online; the top eight participants will compete for the main prize at the BLAST studio.

The BLAST Open series will feature 16 squads; The final stages of the event will take place at stadiums in Lisbon and London.

The BLAST Risings tournaments will give teams that did not qualify for the Open a chance to prove themselves on the international stage. The competitions will play out in four regions – Europe, North America, Asia and South America. Each region will feature 12 teams, while the winners will advance to the main tournament of the season – Rivals.

Moreover, BLAST announced that they will additionally (to prize money) encourage teams to participate in their competitions – rosters will receive payments for fulfilling advertising obligations. In total, the company will pay out four million dollars in this way in 2025. The organizers will pay out another $2 million as part of the Frequent Flyer program.
