NAVI and FURIA became the first teams to advance to the final stage of IEM Rio 2024, having won two matches in a row in their groups. In the upper bracket semi-finals, Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's squad bested Liquid (4:13 on Inferno, 13:5 on Dust2, 13:11 on Ancient), while the roster from South America prevailed over MOUZ (13:8 on Nuke, 5:13 on Mirage, 13:5 on Dust2).

Moreover, the lower bracket openers played out at night, after which the losing teams lost the opportunity to continue their journey at the tournament. Complexity defeated Imperial (16:12 on Dust2, 11:13 on Vertigo, 13:5 on Anubis), while FaZe prevailed over paiN (13:9 on Dust2, 13:16 on Mirage, 13:8 on Nuke).

Tomorrow, October 9, NAVI and FURIA will face off in the group final, determining the team that will go straight to the playoff semi-finals. The competition in the lower bracket will continue today: MOUZ will compete against Complexity, Liquid – against FaZe.
