mir enters free agency

Russian esports athlete Nikolay "mir" Bityukov parted ways with Virtus.pro. The organization announced this via its official website and social media accounts. "The decision to end cooperation was mutual and satisfactory for both parties", the statement claims.

Bityukov competed for Virtus.pro from July 2023 to April 2024, after which the club benched him, and signed Denis "electroNic" Sharipov to replace him. Since then, mir has been inactive and has not played on the Counter-Strike 2 pro scene. There is no news about the player's future plans yet.

Virtual Pro CEO Nikolai Petrossian commented on this announcement as follows:

We are parting ways with mir today. Nikolay has always been a reliable and hard-working player, whose priority was the team's interests. He joined the roster at a time when we were looking for the best ways to further develop one of our key titles. He won several tournaments with us and proved that he is capable of competing at the tier-1 level. I am grateful for his contributions to the team and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Notably, a few days ago, Virtus.pro revealed a replacement in its Counter-Strike 2 roster: Pavel "PASHANOJ" Legostaev was appointed as head coach of the squad. In this position, he replaced Andrey "XomA" Mironenko, who moved to Aurora today.

 Virtus.pro are now:

 Dzhami "Jame" Ali
 Petr "fame" Bolyshev
 Evgenii "FL1T" Lebedev
 David "n0rb3r7" Danielyan
 Nikolay "mir" Bityukov
