Eternal Fire qualifies for IEM Rio 2024
Engine "MAJ3R" Küpeli's squad became the first winner of the closed European qualifier for the autumn IEM Rio 2024 Counter-Strike 2 tournament.
In the upper bracket final, Eternal Fire bested Falcons with a scoreline of 2:0 (13:11 on Vertigo, 13:8 on Anubis), while before that, they knocked out Cloud9 and B8 into losers' bracket.
The second ticket to IEM Rio 2024 will be fought for tomorrow in the lower bracket final between Falcons and HEROIC. Accordingly, all other participants of the qualifier – fnatic, Cloud9, 3DMAX, OG and B8 – will miss the tournament in Brazil.
IEM Rio 2024 will take place from October 7 to 13, 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with 16 teams competing for $250,000 in prize money. The winner will secure a ticket to IEM Katowice 2025. The list of invitees can be found via the link.
