Woro2k to play for HEROIC at IEM Cologne 2024 [Updated]

Update (18:20 CEST): HEROIC officially confirmed this information. 

According to unofficial information, Volodymyr "⁠Woro2k" Veletniuk will compete for HEROIC as a stand-in at the upcoming IEM Cologne 2024 tournament. Sheep Esports reported this, citing its own sources.

The Ukrainian esports athlete will temporarily replace the team's AWPer Abdul "degster" Gasanov, who was unable to get the visa necessary for traveling to the event in time.

Woro2k's previous team was Monte – he represented it for two years (from July 2022 to July 2024). Before that, Veletniuk was a player for MAD Lions.

IEM Cologne 2024 will be held from August 7 to 18 in Cologne, Germany, with the participation of 24 squads. The total prize pool of the event will amount to $1 million. The organizers recently revealed the tournament brackets for the first and second stages of the competition.
