Team Spirit's representative explains why team will miss IEM Rio 2024
Head of Marketing department of Team Spirit, Konstantin Machaidze, explained why the team declined an invite to the autumn Counter-Strike 2 event IEM Rio 2024. According to the club's representative, too busy of a tournament schedule forced the team to miss some competitions. He told about this via his X social media account.
This season has EWC, BLAST Groups, Cologne, Dacha, Pro League (groups & playoffs) and Fall Finals. That’s only Jul-Aug-Sep. 13 days without tournaments. We don’t think that this is healthy, and try to manage the players’ exhaustion levels.
A couple of days ago, tournament operator ESL announced the list of teams that received direct invites to IEM Rio 2024. The competition will be held from October 7 to 13, 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the participation of 16 rosters. Participants will compete for $250,000 in prize money. The winner will secure a ticket to IEM Katowice 2025.
