alpha to round out Cloud9 roster for Esports World Cup 2024 qualifier

Team Spirit's academy player Daniil "alpha" Demin will compete for Cloud9 at the European qualifier for Esports World Cup 2024. This was reported via the team's social media accounts.

The North American club has to use a stand-in due to the recent departure of Denis "electroNic" Sharipov. The Russian esports athlete moved to Virtus.pro.

Cloud9 received a direct invite to the European closed qualifier, which is scheduled for April 19-20. The Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov-led roster will compete against Eternal Fire and two finalists of the open qualifier, which will be determined later today.

Note that Esports World Cup 2024 will take place on unknown dates in the summer, while the venue will be Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The invitees to the upcoming tournament, where the organizers promise to feature a record prize pool, are Team Spirit, NAVI, FaZe, Complexity, FURIA, G2, Vitality, MOUZ and Virtus.pro.
