OverDrive: ESIC bans gokushima for 2 years
Esports blogger and insider Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov told via his social media accounts that FORZE's Erkhan "gokushima" Bagynanov received a ban from the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC). Previously, the Russian AWPer had been accused of participating in match-fixing activities.
According to Birukov, ESIC has completed an investigation, which will result in a wave of bans on the CS2 pro scene. In particular, gokushima has been banned from competing for a period of 2 years.
Note that in the summer of 2023, rumors surfaced on the web about gokushima's involvement in match-fixing activities through the use of Illegal software, the so-called radar hack. This information was unofficially confirmed by Team Spirit's academy coach Dmitry "S0tF1k" Forostyanko, who invited the player for trial.
As of now, ESIC has not commented on OverDrive's information. CSGO.com knows that the official announcement has been delayed as accused players have been given the opportunity to appeal.
