Official: Evil Geniuses leave CS

In 2024, North American multigaming organization Evil Geniuses will not be represented on the Counter-Strike pro scene. The corresponding announcement was published on the club's social media accounts.

Previously, the players of EG's male and female rosters had already announced their departure. Notably, journalist Richard Lewis reported on the organization's intention to close the CS division back in November.

Evil Geniuses' press release did not disclose the reasons for this decision. According to the media reports, the main motive was the economic downturn, which led to massive staff layoffs and forced a reconsideration of representation in some of the most costly disciplines.

According to the released statement, EG will continue to monitor Counter-Strike scene and hope to return in the future. Former Head of CS2 Soham "valens" Chowdhury will continue to work with the organization and lead the gaming department.
