FalleN: "To reach Rio, Imperial got to be playing much better"

Imperial's in-game leader Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo gave an interview to Dexerto, in which he shared his expectations for IEM Rio Major 2022. The Brazilian hopes his team will be able to secure a ticket to this tournament but at the same time admits that in the current form, it will be difficult for Imperial to qualify for the home Major.

To reach Rio, even though we don’t have much time left, we’ve got to be playing much better. It’s going to be hard so we have to use our time well and put in motion the things we know are good in the game. You have to know what you have to do, but you also have to do it, and I think this roster can do those things.

FalleN is sure that due to the huge support of the Brazilian fans, the Major in Rio de Janeiro will be a special tournament.

No one has experienced what it’s going to be like in Rio. I’m 100% sure of that. You can see that here [at DreamHack Melbourne] – you have 50 Brazilians in the crowd and you can hear the noise. Imagine a full stadium with 10,000 people. Those guys are insane. They love the show, they love to be there, they like to show they’re there. It’s going to be like nothing anyone has experienced, including myself.

Earlier, it became known that as part of the upcoming Major, the fans will be able to watch all stages of the tournament live. Initially, the organizers planned to let the audience into the arena only during the playoffs.

For Imperial, the qualifying event for IEM Rio 2022 will begin on October 5 at the Americas RMR, which the Brazilians will attend as one of the direct invitees. The competition will feature sixteen teams fighting for six spots in the Major.
