BC.Game can qualify for Major via Asia – Valve make exception for the team
Valve has updated its list of exceptions to the Counter-Strike 2 tournament requirements, adding a provision that allows BC.Game to qualify for PGL Singapore Major 2026 through the Asian region.
BC.Game (asap, Magisk, mzinho, s1mple, Senzu) are assigned to the Asia region and are eligible for a Major invitation.
This exception was introduced just a day after the developers adjusted the VRS region-switching rules, specifying that "a roster is only eligible for a Regional Assignment if they did not appear in any other region's VRS list in the preceding three calendar months".
This means teams must wait three months for a region change to take effect. Consequently, squads cannot switch at the last minute from stronger regions to weaker ones, where fewer VRS points are required to qualify for the Major.
As a result, BC.Game has all but secured its spot at the upcoming Major in Singapore; the team currently holds second place in the Asian VRS ranking.
Earlier, the CEO of BC.Game issued an official statement regarding the recent changes to the Major regulations. The team's coach, Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, also commented on the matter, criticizing Valve's new rule.
