Cloud9, Monte, VP and FaZe off to winning start at Thunderpick World Championship 2023

Cloud9, Monte, Virtus.pro and FaZe won their openers in the group stage of Thunderpick World Championship 2023. Now they are only one victory away from advancing to the tournament playoffs.

In Group A, Abay "HObbit" Khassenov's squad bested fnatic (13:8 on Ancient, 11:13 on Overpass and 13:10 on Inferno), while the Bears defeated NIP (8:13 on Overpass, 13:3 on Ancient and 13:10 on Inferno). In Group B, the Ukrainian team got the best of Wildcard (13:2 on Overpass and 13:6 on Anubis), while the Finn "karrigan" Andersen-led roster took over SAW (13:6 on Anubis and 13:6 on Nuke).

Tomorrow, October 28, Thunderpick World Championship 2023 will continue with four matches: at 10:00 CET fnatic and NIP will fight for survival, at 13:00 CET Cloud9 and Virtus.pro will face off for a spot in the decisive stage of the event, at 16:00 CET Wildcard and SAW will compete in an knockout match, while at 19:00 CET Monte and FaZe will fight for a ticket to the playoffs.
