malta departs VERTEX and retires
Australian Liam "malta" Schembri has departed VERTEX and retired from pro play, as the club announced via its Twitter account.
Schembri joined VERTEX in February 2022. Together with the team, the 27-year-old Australian won several local events, and also participated in ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022, ESL Challenger Melbourne 2023 and IEM Sydney 2023.
Notably, during his career, malta also competed for such teams as Chiefs and Renegades, with whom he won multiple tournaments on the local pro scene. Moreover, Schembri took part in three Majors – in Katowice, Berlin and Stockholm.
