ESL reveals updated ESL Challenger League format for 2024

Tournament operator ESL unveiled via its official website an updated format of the ESL Challenger League series for 2024. The changes affected the number of regions, the distribution of spots in ESL Pro League, and the rules for promoting rosters between divisions.

Starting with ESL Challenger League Season 47, the series will take place in five regions: Europe, North America, Asia, South America and Oceania. The two best rosters from each competition will secure invites to the next ESL Pro League.

The tournament operator has also approved an updated prizes system. The changes did not affect the European region, where the total prize pool of $100K remained unchanged. In contrast, North America's competition will now have a prize pool of $80K (previously $100K). South America will offer $60K, while Asia and Oceania will feature $40,000 and $10,000 prize pools, respectively.

Moreover, ESL has reworked the system for promotion between divisions. From now on, teams in ESEA League will receive points, certain amount of which will allow to qualify for the next season of ESL Challenger League.

ESL Challenger League Season 47 will kick off on February 13 and will take place until June 9. Tournaments in all five regions will play out online.
