Vitality and VERTEX eliminated from IEM Sydney 2023; MOUZ and BetBoom through to playoffs

Vitality and VERTEX are the first teams to get eliminated from IEM Sydney 2023, having suffered two losses in a row in Group A each. In the first round of the lower bracket, the European grand sensationally faced FaZe and lost with a scoreline of 1:2 (16:14 on Overpass, 10:13 on Inferno and 9:13 on Nuke), while in another match, the Australians got relegated by Apeks (5:13 on Mirage and 11:13 on Anubis).

At the same time, the upper bracket semi-finals took place, the winners of which secured playoff spots. MOUZ bested NAVI with a scoreline of 2:1 (16:13 on Mirage, 4:13 on Inferno and 13:6 on Ancient), while BetBoom defeated GamerLegion in two maps (13:11 on Mirage and 13:6 on Nuke) .

The group final between MOUZ and BetBoom, which will determine the team that advances to the tournament semi-final, will take place on October 18. In turn, the competition in the lower bracket will continue tomorrow, October 17, at 10:30 CET: NAVI will face FaZe, while GamerLegion will compete against Apeks.
