MSL retires from competition

Danish esports athlete Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen has taken it to his social media accounts to announce his retirement.

Lauridsen, 28, did not provide a specific reason for his decision to stop competing on the professional scene. He mentioned that the transition from being a player to being a coach was an obvious step, but now he intends to pursue something different.

MSL's career lasted more than ten years, during which he played for such famous clubs as Dignitas, North and OpTic. Moreover, since his departure from North in 2020, he primarily competed at the tier 2 scene for teams like South, GORILLAZ and Sashi.

Throughout his CS:GO professional career, Lauridsen has won seven LAN tournaments, including the prestigious EPICENTER 2016 and DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018. He also participated in seven Majors.
