Latest CS2 updates increased FPS on different maps by an average of 7%
Counter-Strike 2's performance in matchmaking increased by an average of 7%. Data-miner Thour announced this via his Twitter account after comparing FPS on most maps before and after the September updates.
According to published information, the developers managed to achieve the best optimization for Mirage and Ancient, as the FPS increased on these maps by 12.38% and 9.29%, respectively. The worst progress was seen on Italy and Vertigo, namely 2.89% and 3.15%, respectively.
Before-and-after FPS comparison for the analyzed maps looks as follows:
- Mirage: before – 376.5, after – 426.2 (+12.38%)
- Ancient: before – 315.9, after – 346.7 (+9.29%)
- Dust 2: before – 369.9, after – 398 (+7.31%)
- Overpass: before – 321, after – 344.7 (+7.12%)
- Anubis: before – 323.5, after – 342.9 (+5.82%)
- Nuke: before – 369.6, after – 383.4 (+3.66%)
- Vertigo: before – 380.6, after – 392.8 (+3.15%)
- Italy: before – 306.1, after – 315.1 (+2.89%)
Notably, in his study Thour used i5-12400F and GTX 1660 Ti OC at medium graphics settings and a 1920x1080 screen resolution.
