ESIC announced new wave of bans for abusing coaching bug

In the near future, the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) will share new results of the investigation into cases of coaches using the spectator mode bug, which has been ongoing since 2020. The Head of the Commission, Ian Smith, spoke about this in an interview on the INSITE YouTube channel.

According to the Head, ESIC has already looked into matches involving more than a hundred coaches, some of which will be banned. He clarified that out of all the specialists who will be sanctioned, only a few are now working at the tier 3 scene and above.

Smith noted that within the investigation of new cases of using the coaching bug, ESIC will not sanction those who used it in one round. Only those coaches who were seen abusing it for several rounds are subject to punishment.

Notably, in 2020, ESIC banned 37 coaches, some of which were acquitted. Two years later, the Commission reported the discovery of a number of similar cases, in which 97 more coaches were suspected.
