Saudi Arabia to build $500 million esports city

Saudi Arabia is planning to build an esports city as part of its expansion into the industry, as the CEO of Arabia Holding Co. Mohammed AlQahtani announced via his personal LinkedIn account.

It was reported that the management intends to allocate about $ 500 million for the project. The capacity of the facility, which will be located in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, will be 20K people, and in the future it will host big esports tournaments.

Construction should be completed in 2024. The project is part of a plan called Saudi Arabia Vision 2030, which includes many technological, sport and cultural facilities.

This summer the capital of Saudi Arabia will host a big LAN tournament Gamers8 2023, in which many top rosters will take part, including NAVI, FaZe, Heroic and G2. The event will play out from August 14 to 20 with a prize pool of $1 million.
