kennyS announces retirement
French player Kenny "kennyS" Schrub has announced his retirement from professional esports. He spoke about this at the Accor Arena stage before the second semi-final match of BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023.
Counter-Strike has given me everything in life: Experience, knowledge, maturity, pretty much everything. I didn't make a speech because I know I will lose my words anyway. But, to make it quick, I took this place on stage here to tell you that I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the love you have given me.
To make it short. I am retiring from competition. I loved every single moment. My best moment has been the education this game has given me, winning a Major obviously... and obviously many tournaments like Montpellier... I want to thank everyone.
Schrub has been performing on the pro scene since 2011. During his career he has won numerous tier 1 tournaments including DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015, WESG 2016 World Finals and Champions Cup Finals.
Recently, kennyS was benched from the Falcons starting five, remaining with the organization as a content creator.
