WePlay Academy League put on hold
Ukrainian tournament operator WePlay has announced via their official website that the Academy League is taking a break.
WePlay Academy League was launched in 2021 with the goal of providing a platform for young players to develop. TO hosted a total of six seasons, with $100,000 in prize money each.
Today, we have to announce that the WePlay Academy League project is on pause until the end of the full-scale war in Ukraine. The experience of the recent seasons has shown that in the present situation, there are no proper conditions that would allow us to hold the next seasons of the tournament to the standard we set since Season 1. As before, the safety of our staff and all tournament participants is our top priority. This decision was agreed upon with all participating organizations.
MOUZ NXT secured the most titles in WePlay Academy League, winning the first four seasons. The fifth and sixth seasons were won by fnatic and NIP, respectively.
