Valve explains CS:GO's increased popularity
CS:GO developers have commented via their Twitter account on the growth of the game's popularity. They noted that even ten years after the release, the shooter attracts new players, as it is easy to get into, but requires time to master.
This was the developers' response to blogger Jake Lucky, who posted about the peak player count record set the day before.
Because it takes minutes to understand and a lifetime to master, and the more you invest the greater your returns. The feeling when everything comes together never gets old. Whether it’s a one tap, a perfect spray, a new piece of util, an ace, or a clutch; it’s Counter-Strike.
The highest player count record in Valve's shooter has already been beaten three times this month. The current record of 1,349,390 was set on February 25.
