G2 tie with NAVI in record map win streak on LAN
A 2:0 victory over Liquid in the IEM Katowice 2023 semifinal has extended G2's unbeaten streak at LAN events to 19 maps. HLTV.org drew attention in its Twitter post to the fact that this is a repetition of NAVI's result from 2021.
The European roster's winning streak began last December at BLAST Premier World Final 2022 and continued at two tournaments this year: BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 and IEM Katowice 2023. During this period, G2 defeated NAVI three times and also twice prevailed over each of FaZe, Liquid and BIG.
The record for the longest unbeaten streak belongs to NIP. The Ninjas made history in 2012 and 2013, when they won 87 consecutive maps on LAN.

On February 12, G2 will get a chance to secure the clean second place on the presented list. The Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen-led squad now await the match against Heroic in the grand final of IEM Katowice 2023, which is scheduled to begin at 18:00 MSK and will be held in a best-of-five format.
