zakk announced as Imperial's new coach
Brazilian organization Imperial has unveiled former 9z's skipper Rafael "zakk" Fernandes as its new coach. The press release was posted on the team's social media accounts.
In the coaching position, Fernandes replaced Lincoln "fnx" Lau. The once eminent esports athlete was in charge of the roster throughout the second half of 2022, and in December announced his desire to return to a professional player career.
With the signing of zakk, Imperial have completed the formation of the lineup for the next competitive season. Another change during the winter break was the replacement of Fernando "fer" Alvarenga with Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian, who was acquired from MIBR.
Imperial's next matches will take place at EPL Season 17 Conference South America, a qualifier for ESL Pro League Season 17. The tournament will be held online from January 18 to 20.
