fnatic suspend their academy team operations
fnatic have announced that they are putting a pause on their academy roster. The press release was published on the club's official website.
Due to the junior lineup being released, all fnatic Rising members have become free agents. The organization emphasized that it would take the time to review its approach to developing young players, yet did not reveal when the academy's operations would be resumed.
fnatic first created a youth roster in 2016 but shut it down two years later. In 2021, the club formed the fnatic Rising team, which subsequently, besides a number of other tournaments, took part in the WePlay Academy League and became the champions of the fifth season.
Along with the news about putting their academy project on hold, fnatic also announced contract extensions for the main team's coach Jamie "keita" Hall and director of the club's CS:GO division Andreas "Samuelsson" Samuelsson. Their new agreements run until the end of 2023.
As a result of fnatic Rising being released, the following players are entering free agency:
Matias "Banjo" Kivistö
Mikkel "Maze" Sparvath
Sebastian "volt" Malos
Adam "WolfY" Andersson
