drop temporarily joins FURIA Academy

André "drop" Abreu from FURIA's main roster has temporarily joined the Brazilian club's academy team. Dust2.com.br learned that the 18-year-old esports athlete will stand in for FURIA Academy at CCT South America Series 3.

drop's participation in the matches of FURIA's academy team is due to not having the full-fledged five in the youth squad of the Brazilian club, which over the past few weeks had to use the coach as a stand-in.

Yesterday, November 23, Abreu helped FURIA Academy qualify for CCT South America Series 3. He took part in the decisive match of the closed qualifier, where the team got the better of TotalePro.

It is worth noting that drop is a "graduate" of FURIA Academy which he represented until August 2021, after which was promoted to the main team. The best achievement of the Brazilians since then was reaching the IEM Rio Major 2022 semifinals.

CCT South America Series 3 will run from November 24 to December 7. The regional $25,000 tournament will feature 24 teams, of which 16 will start the competition in the group stage, while eight others will be invited to the Round of 16.
