IEM Rio Major 2022 Legends Stage round 1 matchups and schedule revealed

The organizers of IEM Rio Major 2022 have unveiled the matchups in the first round of the Legends Stage, where eight direct invitees will compete with the winners of the Challengers Stage. The invited participants were drawn taking into account their ranking before the start of the tournament, while seeding for the finalists of the Challengers Stage was carried out based on the Buchholz score in the previous stage.

The Legends Stage will be held on November 5-8 and use the Swiss system, where three wins lead to the playoffs, while three losses mean elimination from the tournament. The opening matches will be played in a best-of-one format, while promotion and elimination confrontations will be best-of-three.
