Liquid and Evil Geniuses through to IEM Rio 2022

The third round of action at the Americas RMR event saw Liquid defeat Complexity (16:9 on Inferno, 14:16 on Overpass and 16:7 on Ancient) and Evil Geniuses take over 9z (16:5 on Overpass, 11:16 on Dust2 and 16:13 on Mirage). Having secured three consecutive victories, these teams booked their berths at IEM Rio 2022.

On October 9, Liquid will face Evil Geniuses to determine the only team to have a spot in the Major's top 16 from the American region. In turn, the losing team will not get a direct ticket to the Legends Stage and will start the main tournament of the half-year from the Challengers Stage.

Along with the spot-deciders, IEM Road to Rio 2022 Americas RMR's third round also saw the meetings between the teams from the 1-1 pool, where 00NATION, FURIA, paiN and ATK prevailed over Imperial, O PLANO, Nouns and MIBR, respectively. The losing squads no longer have room for error, while the winners need one more victory to qualify for the Major.

Today's matchday at the Americas RMR will end with two elimination matches. The main outsiders will be determined following the TeamOne – Infinity and Isurus – ARCTIC confrontations.
