Imperial CEO on replacing fnx with chelo: "The team needed a reboot"

Imperial CEO Felippe Martins hopes that the replacement of Lincoln "fnx" Lau with Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes will help the team improve its results compared to the first half of 2022. He wrote about this on his Instagram page, excerpts from which were cited by DRAFT5.

The head believes that during the summer off-season, the Brazilian squad needed a reboot.

The team needed a reboot. After a much needed replacement and the signing of chelo, we are looking forward to the new competitive season. We are looking to improve on the results we had in the first half of the year.

Martins also explained why the club decided to retain fnx and make him the team's coach.

Continuing to work with fnx made us happy. His importance for the team cannot be described. He is a monster, a big part of our project. He is very qualified and deserves to be at the IEM Rio Major 2022. So with that in mind, we were looking for solutions to keep him in the team.

The revamped Imperial roster will be making its debut at ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022, which will be held in Australia from September 2 to 9. In the group stage, the Brazilians will face VERTEX, Grayhound and paiN.
