FMPONE is working on a CS:GO map on Source 2

Well-known map developer in the CS:GO community Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling has shared via his Twitter account information on the development of a map for CS:GO on Source 2. The images in the tweets show that for a more modern engine he is reworking a map called Santorini.

FMPONE demonstrated what his work looks like at the initial stage. He posted images of both separate elements of the map and the entire location from above.

It is important to note that it was Snelling who created Santorini, which appeared in CS:GO with the release of Operation Wildfire in 2016 and was soon removed from the game. Besides Santorini, under FMPONE's belt are such maps as Cache, Season, Crown, Gwalior and Subzero.

The rumors about CS:GO being ported to a new engine first appeared in 2017. Since then, insiders and data miners have repeatedly shared information found in various sources, which indirectly confirms the work on porting the game to Source 2.
