FaZe return to number one spot in HLTV.org ranking after winning IEM Cologne 2022

FaZe have once again dethroned NAVI to return to the number one spot in the ranking of the strongest teams in the world according to HLTV.org. This happened after the success of the European team at IEM Cologne 2022, in the grand final of which it was Natus Vincere who suffered a defeat.

The results of the concluded the day before tournament have significantly changed the positions of teams in the ranking. Among the leading teams that saw the rise were Astralis, Movistar Riders and MOUZ, whose participation in the playoffs of IEM Cologne 2022 resulted in them breaking into the top 10.

In the first half of the ranking, the progress of the aforementioned trio, as well as the lift of Cloud9 to 3rd place and Liquid to 14th place, worsened the positions of a number of teams, including ENCE, Vitality, G2, FURIA, BIG, Heroic and Team Spirit.

Outside of the top 15, Imperial's drop stands out the most. The eminent Brazilians have fallen five positions to now sit at 23rd place. This week's changes also saw ex-MAD Lions entering the top 30 and thus replacing Falcons.

HLTV.org's ranking is updated weekly and primarily takes into account the results of the last two months. Teams' achievements over the past year are also included, with the number of points for past successes decreasing each month.
